Project Plan or Schedule… Hum But What Is It Exactly?
Let’s get the foundations right and start with two quick definitions, shall we?
The Project Plan is basically used to manage the execution of a project.
It documents “the actions necessary to define, prepare, integrate and coordinate the various planning activities […] throughout the course of the project” (source).
It usually include a Project Schedule that lists down dates for specific tasks /activities needed to meet the project plan’s milestones.
Both of them are usually used as a communication tool to ensure the right people share and understand the project in which they’re involved.
What You Can (and Should) Include in a Project Plan Presentation
Here are a few pieces of information to include for an effective project plan:
- Project goals & objectives (what do you expect to achieve)
- Scope (what needs to be done to achieve goals)
- Deliverables (concrete steps and results to be achieved during the project)
- Start & finish dates (and/or milestones)
- Responsible people (who’s in charge of what)
Below, I’ll share with you a few ideas of how you can use the slides for your own presentations.
